So, even though we haven’t known each other that long, I thought I would introduce you to one of my favourite things in the world. Knickers. I know, I know, I sound like a crazy lady, but honestly, there is nothing I love more than buying underwear. So, I logically thought I would love making my own!
I searched the internet, and found many a tutorial, but settled for this one
I had an old green gingham school dress and I loved the pattern so decided to use it. However, my downfall was that the tutorial I followed used t-shirt material which was already stretchy, and mine was not….
So after carefully printing out the pattern, cutting it out, sticking it together, cutting round it for my material, sewing it all together, the knickers have ended up too small π¦ At least I think so. I haven’t actually tried them on yet! (I would say I will let you know, but that would be weird).
I added elastic at the top, and also round the leg holes (which I have been told I didn’t need to), and even though they are not perfect, I am still very pleased with myself!
Next time I will definitely use an old t-shirt, in fact I already have some fabric in mind – but it is all the way in my uni house as I have already moved stuff over- and so I am excited to try again!
Anyway, here are some pictures of the finished product;

Aw they’re cute! Matching knickers for school haha. Even if they don’t fit I would say it was good to have a test run :)!!
